Maria is so excited – she is going to market with her father today! It is important that they deal sharply so that they will be able to get enough food for themselves and milk for Maria’s baby brother, Tino.

Maria enjoys her day at the market. It is busy and colorful – and there are so many people to see! Slowly she and her father sell all of their goods. There is nothing left but a table, and they have not yet gotten the milk for Tino. A couple stops at their booth. Maria becomes excited – maybe they will buy the table and they can get milk for Tino, after all! But it is not just the table that they are interested in – they also want Paco, Maria’s very own little stuffed bear. They will give her milk for it.

Can Maria give up Paco for the sake of her brother?

Praises.

When Maria and her father arrive at market, instead of begging for the different trinkets on display there, Maria sets about to help her father as best as she can. She is thrilled when she helps him to make better bargains. Finally, Maria selflessly sells Paco so that her baby brother can have milk.

Conclusion. Sweet.
