Unlike 882 ½ Answers to Your Questions About the Titanic, Titanic Ghosts of the Abyss focuses on the actual wreckage of the Titanic. Employing photographs taken by James Cameron’s underwater expedition, Ghosts seeks to create awe by contrasting illustrations of the Titanic as it was with pictures of the Titanic as it now is – barnacle encrusted and desolate.
The particular bragging point of Ghosts is that it contains 3-D images that “come alive” when viewed with special 3-D glasses. Unfortunately, as I purchased a used copy, the glasses were missing and so the illustrations appeared merely blurry, rather than 3-D.
Conclusion. Good, but calculated to provide visual diversion rather than educational value.
