Oh no! Mama Raccoon is sick – she must spend the day in bed resting and recovering! Papa Raccoon and the three little ones are confident that they can take care of the house while Mama is sleeping, and they do – but just barely. They never realized how hard Mama Raccoon worked keeping everyone fed and the whole house clean! How much she must love them!
The story is told in rhyming poetry and is accompanied by illustrations that are very bright, but also very warm. The raccoons live in a human-style house and use lamps, highchairs, stoves, and wheelbarrows.
Conclusion. Cute. If you don’t have a problem with clothes-wearing, talking animals, you’ll like this book.
