I found this book at a garage sale. And, as it bore the Caldecott mark, I bought it. It only cost fifty cents. But were they worth it?

YES.

Frog and Toad are Friends is the title of the book. It’s also the description, the synopsis, and the recommendation. Because Frog and Toad are two of the cutest little friends you are ever going to meet.

They aren’t especially clever – in fact, there is a fanciful, bumbling way about their conversations that reminds me of Winnie-the-Pooh. They are often distracted by side elements and misused words, but they always wind up where they need to be, and sometimes they even remember why they were going there. :)

Frog and Toad both wear clothes (Toad even wears a swimsuit!) and live in houses.

Conclusion. Reminiscent of The Wind in the Willows. Too cute. : )
