Sailor Jack and Homer Pots both work on a submarine called the SHARK. The SHARK can dive deep, deep, deep. Sailor Jack does his work in the control room. Homer Pots does his work in the kitchen. They are both very good at their work.

But one day, Homer Pots does not pay attention while doing his work. Down he falls! The sailors work on Homer Pots, but he cannot keep doing his work – he must rest. Can Sailor Jack do Homer Pots’ work?

Discussion.

Cute, cute, cute. Sailor Jack and Homer Pots, apart from depicting life on a submarine, also teaches the importance of each man’s role in an endeavor – and teaches that talent can’t just be replaced. The illustration style is great – it reflects the forties/fifties era clothing style, and the black and white outlines are filled in with straightforward primary colors.

Discussion. Very cute.
