An I Survived book.

The Story.

All across Europe people were dying – or more accurately, were being killed. Max and Zena Rosen knew that Hitler hated them along with the rest of their fellow Jews, but they never expected that by taking a step outside of their ghetto, they would earn the particular wrath of the Nazis. Now they’re on the run, dodging through Polish forests and swamps trying to stay out of the way of the Nazis.

But once they join the underground resistance, it’s only a matter of time before they are targeted by the Nazi’s most lethal forces. Can Max, Zena, and their fellow resistors survive?

I like the I Survived series. They are all set during events of special historical importance – The Sinking of the Titanic, The Bombing of Pearl Harbor, The Shark Attacks of 1916The Attacks of September 11, 2001 etc. – and seek to communicate the experience of the event (rather than the facts). However, other stories communicate equally the atmosphere while also communicating more facts.

Conclusion. Read Snow Treasure, When The Soldiers Were Gone, Surviving Hitler, I Survived the Bombing of Pearl Harbor, and We Were There at Pearl Harbor.
