Ibis is a little humpback whale. Or rather, she’s a baby, but she’s not very little. She’s quite big in fact.

At any rate, Ibis likes to explore in the ocean and look for starfish. But one day, Ibis is captured in one of the nets thrown out to catch fish! She manages to break free, but part of the net is still caught around her mouth and tail. Will Ibis survive?

This story could have been used as a ‘nobody should use nets in the ocean because it hurts the poor whales’ soap box, but it wasn’t. The incident of Ibis was just depicted as a sad story with a happy ending.

Conclusion. I probably would have enjoyed this story as a kid.
