In this beginning reader, Alice Dalgliesh treats us to an experience of the Mayflower voyage and subsequent Pilgrim experiment at Plymouth through the eyes of the young Hopkins children, Giles, Constance, and Damaris. Through them we experience the storms at sea, Indian attacks, deadly illnesses, and finally the period of peace and prosperity enjoyed around the first Thanksgiving.
Conclusion. Great – well illustrated and illuminating.
