So, I gotta say, I kinda love this one. It’s exactly the kind of picture book I like – beautifully illustrated, charmingly told, and featuring an adorable relationship, this time between ‘Old Bear and His Cub’.
These two have an unbeatable relationship. In the first half of the book, Old Bear tells Cub to do several things, to which he responds “No”. But after Old Bear gives him a hard stare, Cub hurries up and does it. In the second half of the book, Old Bear catches a cold and Cub tries to take care of him. But Old Bear gives Cub trouble – he doesn’t want to stay in bed and take his medicine. But here we see how Old Bear has rubbed off on Cub, because Cub stares and stares… until Old Bear takes his medicine, goes to bed, and takes a long hard nap.
Conclusion. Up there with the I Love You series. :)
