I enjoyed this book more than I thought I would. And I thought I would enjoy it. So that makes this a good book. :)

Hey, Horses! takes a flyby look at the role horses have played in the development of the American continent. In ten short chapters we learn about the first horses that arrived with the Spaniards, the stagecoach horses who helped expand transportation to the frontier, the horses of the Revolutionary War, Justin Morgan’s horse, the horses that pulled the first fire engines, Seabiscuit, and others. I honestly wish each of the chapters had been turned into a short book of its own – each of the stories was fun and exciting and could have handled the expansion.

Conclusion. A good, historical resource for children who love horses. Also read Justin Morgan Had a Horse and King of the Wind.
