In this fanciful book, the reader is walked through step by step what would happen, and what would be required of him, were he to decide to go to the moon.
Although not extraordinarily scientific, If You Decide does teach children about some of the basic supplies needed to complete a space flight – space suits, oxygen tanks, etc. – as well as provide them with a sense of what it might feel like to be poised in the black night of space surrounded by nothing but the pinpoint brilliance of a thousand stars.
Billions of years is mentioned once and children are depicted wearing swimsuits.
Conclusion. Good – not as informative as The Space Shuttle – but definitely more imaginative.
