Title: Sending a Message with Dots and DashesSending a Message with Dots
Author: Emily North
Illustrator: Krysten Brooker
Pages: 16
Reading Level: 7-8
Star Rating: ★★

In this slim beginning reader, we are given a very quick fly-by on the notion of communication – how it was first effected by runners in early civilizations, later by horses, and finally by Samuel B. Morse’s telegraph machine.

The illustrations have little nuance to their shapes and are, in fact, quite blotchy.

Conclusion. The information offered in Sending a Message isn’t really worth the buy.
