In this short, sixteen page book, Anne Miranda explores the life of Wynton Marsalis, one of the greatest jazz artists to grace the twentieth century. She briefly traces his love of music from the moment of his birth into the musical Marsalis family through his brief apathy in middle school to his sudden burst of passion and dedication in high school. Through Marsalis’ inspiring story, Miranda encourages her readers to experiment with music themselves and find out which genre appeals to them most.
Conclusion. Okay – obviously not a detailed account of Marsalis’ life, but also not fluffy.
