I have several editions of Peter Rabbit – a hard cover with real pages, a board book, in several anthologies, and now as this ‘rebus’ book. And I gotta say – this rebus book may be the cutest of them all.
I purchased my copy used, so a few of the special effects are torn, but the charm of the book remains. See, at select points throughout the story (generally every 10-20 words) a noun is covered by a little flap of paper. On the top of the flap is a picture of the noun – on the underside is the noun itself. This is not only adorable, but it also helps children to identify objects as they fit into the sentence.
Conclusion. A very, very sweet edition of Peter Rabbit.
