From the same series as Animals of Australia, Snakes and Crocs, and Wolves, comes Incredible Sea Creatures, a small book which explores the world of the deep. Like the other books in the series, Incredible Sea Creatures devotes one full or half page to describing the features and habits of various species of aquatic dwellers.

Here are a few of the fun facts I learned in Incredible Sea Creatures.

  • The giant clam can grow to be five feet across and weigh five hundred pounds!
  • All ribbon eels are males at birth – some later become female. :O
  • The ocean sunfish, which is the largest bony fish in the world, grows to be five to ten feet long and can weigh up to 5,000 pounds!

Conclusion. A fine book – I especially appreciated the pronunciation guides included for difficult words.
